Profile

The Department of Information Technology was established in 2001 with an intake of 60 students. The department is equipped with 8 well-equipped laboratories featuring the latest hardware and software, along with 3 classrooms and one tutorial hall supported by modern teaching aids and computing facilities.

The undergraduate program in Information Technology is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi for the third time for the academic years 2022–2025. The department currently has 16 experienced and well-qualified teaching staff members and 6 supporting staff members who effectively conduct academic, curricular and extracurricular activities as planned at the beginning of every semester.

In the academic year 2022-23, the department strength was 376 students. Students actively participate in curricular and co-curricular activities organized by the departmental association ITERA as well as professional bodies like CSI, ISTE and IEEE. Apart from the central library, the department maintains its own library with an excellent collection of reference books, textbooks, CSI magazines and IEEE magazines.

The department offers value-added courses such as SAP Certification Training Programme in collaboration with Primus Techsystems Pvt. Ltd., Pune and REDHAT Academy Centre, MBPS Infotech, Pune. Capsule courses are also conducted to enhance technical skill sets of students.

The IT Department has an excellent placement record in renowned multinational companies such as TCS, Infosys, Persistent, Cognizant, Wipro and many more. To strengthen industry interaction and bridge the gap between industry and academia, the department organizes flagship events like Sanjivani Thought Leader, Sanjivani I-Connect and Sanjivani My Story Board.

Various personal and professional skill development programs including Communication and Soft Skills, Aptitude Training, Technical Skill Enhancement, Foreign Language Certification, Personal and Spiritual Development, Entrepreneurship Development Activities and preparation courses for competitive examinations (GATE/GRE/CAT etc.) are conducted on campus. Students are encouraged to develop leadership qualities through student associations, student council activities and participation in departmental and college-level events.
