Profile

Sanjivani College of Engineering has a legacy to provide best in engineering education since 1983. A strong industry connect, alumni network, and futuristic cognitive skill demand of Industry 4.0, Robotics, IoT, AI, automotive automation and home appliance automation suggest a wide scope of Mechatronics in engineering education. Understanding this industrial and societal demand of automation, the institute started the Mechatronics branch from the academic year 2020-21.

Mechatronics is a synergic integration of Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Control Engineering.

Mechatronics Engineers work across multiple engineering disciplines and have a strong interdisciplinary foundation. They possess knowledge of mechanical, electrical, control and computer engineering fundamentals, enabling them to develop smart and creative solutions in research, industry and software domains.

The department is supported by experienced multidisciplinary faculty. Innovative laboratories in Robotics, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Industry 4.0, automotive automation, home appliance automation and Drone technology cater to students’ advanced learning and research needs.

The programme structure comprises theory courses aligned with market demand due to autonomous status, along with laboratory work, cooperative programmes and capstone projects. Hands-on laboratory sessions, cooperative programmes and capstone projects enhance students’ employability skills. Social responsibility is nurtured through colloquium activities.

The programme focuses on project-based cognitive skill learning process.

  1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to solve complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate and analyze complex engineering problems using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems considering public health, safety, societal and environmental factors.
  4. Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge including design of experiments, data analysis and interpretation to provide valid conclusions.
