Profile

The Mechanical Engineering Department offers a four-year B.Tech. program in Mechanical Engineering with an intake of 120 students. In addition to the regular program, students can pursue B.Tech. (Honors) in Electrical Vehicle Design, 3D Printing, Product Design and Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems.

Students can also opt for B.Tech. (Honors) and B.Tech. (Minor) programs with specialization in Computer Aided Design. The department offers a two-year M.Tech. program in Mechanical (Design Engineering) and is also recognized as a Ph.D. Research Centre in Mechanical Engineering.

The department has been accredited four times by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. The institute received NAAC accreditation with ‘A’ grade in 2017. The department is supported by 24 well-qualified faculty members, including 12 with Ph.D. qualifications.

The department has state-of-the-art laboratories including dedicated CAD labs equipped with software such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, MasterCAM, MATLAB, PTC-Creo, Unigraphics-NX, CNC2000, Python and others. Advanced facilities like 3D Printing Machine, Electric Discharge Machine, Gas Analyzer and Diesel Smoke Meter are available. AICTE sponsored Idea Lab is under development.

Professional bodies and clubs including MESA, SAE, IEI, FPSI, ISHRAE, e-Yantra and Sanjivani Robotics Club actively contribute to student development. The department has signed MoUs with industries for technical collaboration.

Various skill development initiatives such as Foreign Language Courses (German & Japanese), SAP modules, Data Analytics, CNC Programming, CREO, SolidWorks, Python courses, workshops, guest lectures, certificate courses and industry interaction events like ‘Sanjivani I-Connect’ and ‘My Story Board’ are regularly conducted.

The department also organizes SANJIVANI TECH-FEST, a national-level conference for final-year projects and conducts technical workshops for continuous learning and development.
